ADA
What is Cardano?
Cardano is a blockchain platform and cryptocurrency that was founded by Charles Hoskinson, one of the co-founders of Ethereum, in 2015.
It is a third-generation blockchain, meaning it is designed to be more efficient, sustainable, and scalable than earlier generations. Cardano uses a proof-of-stake consensus algorithm called Ouroboros, which aims to be more energy-efficient and secure than proof-of-work algorithms used by Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The Cardano platform is designed to be used for building decentralized applications (dapps) and smart contracts, with a focus on being interoperable, sustainable, and inclusive. Cardano’s native cryptocurrency is called ADA, which is used for transactions and as a form of payment for Dapp developers.
